Cindy,
Is there a place where we can see the current heat risk evaluation posted on an ongoing basis on the web? I have seen this tool used in forecasts when warnings come out from the National Weather Service, but only when they are included in the emails we see from PCWARN, for instance. Some of this information in a general sense can be found here: https://www.weather.gov/safety/heat-index
I am wondering if it is available on an ongoing basis.

Hi there, Kenneth. I would recommend anyone considering thesholds use the NWS Heat Risk Tool. This tool doesn’t base decisions off of a single temperature, but considered day and night-time temps, humidity, and a few other things, and it specifically reference “vulnerable populations”. King and Snohomish Counties ALL use this, so we’d be in good company if we all used the same tool. I’ve attached a ppt given as a training that I organized last summer for TPCHD, PCHS, and PCDEM, as well as Jefferson Co and the National Environmental Health Association. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to encourage the use of this important tool.
Thanks, Cindy

Threshold conditions have been listed as 90 and above for two days. Recent discussion has identified issues with this threshold being too stringent.
Compounding conditions such as humidity and "heat dome" warnings may need to be accounted for.
Can anyone think of any other idea of what a more appropriate threshold may look like?
