Subject: Steering Committee Ad Hoc Committee Report to Pierce County Human Services Committee - Great Job!

Good morning,

If you missed the presentation, you can find it (Rob or Gerrit will tell us how and where).  Courtney did a great job representing the Coalition.  James and Lamont did the same representing the Continuum of Care.

Chair Young said the committee will propose adoption of the Ad Hoc Report and Plan "expeditiously" to Council.  It sounds like Pierce County Human Services will get the resources they need to proceed.

A special thanks to Courtney and Lamont for sharing their personal stories.

Chair Young opened the meeting to public comment and Gerrit, Rob Huff, Klarissa Monteros and I each made brief remarks.

As I understand it, the Ad Hoc Committee will convert to the Steering Committee and add more people.  Two separate planning groups will emerge - one for shelter to meet the Nov. 1 deadline and one for the long-term Comprehensive Plan.

We'll need to re-appoint Courtney and Gerrit - assuming they are willing, and maybe add a few more once we learn what comes next.

It's all pretty amazing to me...from the Summits to this level of political will is astounding.

Take care all,

Maureen
