Dr. Marcia Tate Arunga, Academic Dean Tacoma, The Evergreen State College
Eight of us met and formed an Evergreen Encampment Coordinating Committee and invite anyone on this email distribution to join us.
Our goal is to assist campers in their relocation to safe shelter sites so that they can do so with dignity. We will ask for specific assistance for the campers consistent with our Statement on Sweeps and we will share whatever information and resources we
have. If you have information you want shared with the group, either let me know or just hit "reply to all" If you tell me something you do not want me to share, please put that in big lettes on the email.
If you have questions for the City of Tacoma, please either contact them directly or give them to Rob Huff and he will provide them to Tiegan Thursday afternoon so she can prepare for Friday morning's Coalition to End Homelessness meeting and her regular update.
If you want to be removed from this distribution, please let me know.
If there is someone else who should be added, please let me know that as well.

While many of us on this list are opposed to the sweep, our goal is to help the people living in these encampments relocate as humanely as possible. Permanent housing is our preference but safe shelter will have to suffice.
We know there are beds and tiny houses available right now.
We know that there are several organizations and individuals who already have established relationshps with people living in these encampments.
Our hope is that we can find a way to coordinate our resources and energies always focusing on the individuals we are trying to assist.
We can work by email and meet via Zoom as necessary.
