Coalition Partners,

Mr. Boyce, this is great. Thank you. Perhaps this could be useful for a meal or two at a warming center. Just a thought.

Team, I do have a question for you. I’ve had options about locations to hold supplies for outreach teams fall though. Any ideas from the group? It’s getting late and I’d love to have that established soon.

Maureen, the daily or 2x daily Zoom briefings would be incredibly helpful for those of us stuck at home.  I hope Jody will consider it seriously.

Good Christmas morning,

Just a few items:

1.If you go out today or are providing information to outreach folks, remember NOT to just send people to shelters but to check availability first - use www.pchomeless.org and call the shelter.  Gerrit is keeping that information updated.  The more people we can convince to come inside today, the better.  If they tell you they've been barred from a shelter, and it isn't for violence, see if you can either get them back in or into one of the other shelters.  I honestly don't know what to do with folks barred for violence.  But someone better figure it out and fast.

2.Remember Delmar Algee is our contact person at Pierce County Human Services and he's available after-hours.  .  (253) 281-3944delmar.algee@piercecountywa.gov.

3. Pierce County Dept of Emergency Management will open its Emergency Operations Center Sunday at 9am.  I've suggested to Jody Ferguson, Director, that they consider doing daily or twice daily Zoom "community" briefings - same time each day, same key topics, very brief, use the Chat for questions/comments/suggestions   Open to the Full Coalition listserv.  It seemed like a good idea and an easy way to save lots of email traffic.  We'll see what she says.  It's a bit out of the box.

Jody confirmed that they have communicated with all law enforcement, first responders, fire departments across the county.
She said they will contact all hospitals.

The weather has started to change - the dog came in earlier wearing big white wet snow flakes.

Take care everyone,
Maureen
